College celebrates Constitution Day

Penn State Harrisburg celebrated Constitution Day Sept. 17 with both historical and contemporary views of its impact on homeland security from three faculty members.

Communications major earns adult honor society scholarship

A Penn State Harrisburg student is one of only eight in the nation to win a scholarship sponsored by the Alpha Sigma Lambda National Honor Society.

Alpha sigma Lambda, the national honor society for adult learners, awards the scholarships based on academic achievement, scholarship, leadership activities, and need.

5K run/walk to benefit United Way

A 5-kilometer “pasta run/walk” to benefit the United Way of the Capital Region comes to Penn State Harrisburg Thursday, Sept. 17.

Sponsored by San Giorgio, the race, entirely on campus and open to both runners and walkers, will kick off at 6:15 p.m. from the front of the Capital Union Building. The course is a combination of grass, trails, and paved surfaces.

Constitution Day panel discussion September 17

Penn State Harrisburg will celebrate Constitution Day Thursday, Sept. 17 with a discussion on “The Constitution and Homeland Security and Defense.”

The event is free and open to the public in the Morrison Gallery of the college library beginning at 11:30 a.m.

Community Swim Day September 12

The Aquatics Center at Penn State Harrisburg is hosting a Community Swim Day from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 12 with all proceeds going to the United Way.

The event includes a $5 admission fee and will feature the Nittany Lion mascot and Penn State Harrisburg cheerleaders available for photographs. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
