M.S. in Electrical Engineering added to list of graduate programs

Professionals seeking graduate study in electrical engineering now have two choices at Penn State Harrisburg.

Building on its established Master of Engineering program in electrical engineering, the college now is offering a Master of Science program in electrical engineering with an expanded research focus to address the needs of full-time students.

Faculty member named ‘Outstanding Alumni’ by Taiwan university

Since his 1979 graduation with a bachelor’s degree from National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan, Penn State Harrisburg Professor of Civil Engineering Y. Frank Chen has built an international reputation.

His alma mater recognized his accomplishments recently when it presented him with its Outstanding Alumni Award.

Penn State Harrisburg Graduate Programs Open House April 20

Penn State Harrisburg, with the largest selection of master’s and doctoral programs in the region, is hosting a Graduate School Open House at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 20 in the campus library.
            
Persons attending will have the opportunity to meet and talk with faculty, obtain application, registration, and financial aid information, and learn about Penn State Harrisburg’s 23 master’s and three doctoral programs. Certificate and certification programs are also available.

Heard on campus – def poet Jon Goode

Emmy-nominated def poet Jon Goode recently shared his talents with Penn State Harrisburg students and faculty, opening with an ode to his mother and intermingling jokes and conversation with five other original poems.
Def, or “slam,” poetry uses the literary elements of written poetry with the addition of a dynamic stage performance.  Always memorized, slam poems often include verbal and physical twists to draw in the audience.
