Engineers Week Council to honor faculty member Feb. 21

Penn State Harrisburg Senior Instructor in Engineering AB Shafaye’s longstanding commitment to teaching and service will be formally honored on Feb. 21 when the Central Pennsylvania Engineers Week Council presents him with its 2008 Technical Achievement Award.

Jason W. Ketter appointed director of development

Jason W. Ketter brings nearly 20 years of experience to his new post as director of development at Penn State Harrisburg.

The appointment of Ketter, most recently the vice president of institutional advancement at Delaware Valley College in Doylestown, was announced by Penn State Harrisburg Chancellor Madlyn L. Hanes.

Erik Li appointed to governor’s advisory committee

Erik Li, the director of the Penn State Harrisburg’s Institute of State and Regional Affairs’ Information Technology Center, has been appointed to the newly created Pennsylvania Governor’s Advisory Committee for People with Disabilities.

Li’s appointment to the 58–member advisory committee was announced by Secretary of Public Welfare Estelle B. Richman.

‘Entertainer of the Year’ comes to campus Jan. 30

Named Campus Activities magazine’s 2007 Entertainer of the Year, Justin Kredible’s mix of comedy and magic has established him as one of America’s premiere performers.

Penn State Harrisburg will present Justin’s show at 9:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 30 in the Multipurpose Room of its Community Center. The performance is free and open to the public. For information, phone 717-948-6701.

’85 grad named state’s chief accounting officer

Penn State Harrisburg graduate Anna Marie Anderson has been appointed the Commonwealth’s chief accounting officer.

Anderson’s promotion was recently announced by state Budget Secretary Michael J. Masch. She had previously served the Office of the Budget as assistant director for commonwealth accounting and reporting. A Camp Hill resident, she earned a bachelor’s degree in professional accountancy from the college in 1985.
