Seven faculty members earn promotions

Seven Penn State Harrisburg faculty members have earned promotions in academic rank from the University, effective July 1, 2008.

Promoted to professor are:

  • Aldo W. Morales,electrical engineering;
  • Parag C. Pendharkar, information systems;
  • Barbara A. Sims, criminal justice.

Promoted to associate professor are:

College partners to present ESL symposium

Penn State Harrisburg, the Pennsylvania Department of Education, and the Center for Schools and Communities are partnering to present a free research symposium August 12 in Harrisburg aimed at enhancing education and employment for English language and bilingual learners.

John D. Hoh assumes IIT leadership duties

John D. Hoh brings 20 years of professional experience to Penn State Harrisburg as its new Director of Instructional and Information Technologies.

Dr. Hoh, who assumed duties in the senior leadership staff position July 1, was most recently the director of technology for the West York Area School District. Prior to his appointment at West York, he served as director of computer services at Franklin & Marshall College for more than 13 years.

Considered by many scholars as one of the largest privately compiled research collections on women’s history in America, the Alice Marshall Women’s History Collection – housed in the Penn State Harrisburg Library Archives and Special Collections – is drawing the interest of scholars from throughout the nation.
