Resumania seminar offers expert résumé advice

The Penn State Harrisburg Alumni Society will offer an exclusive opportunity to help students gain résumé advice from area professionals at “Resumania” on Thursday, October 31 at 5 p.m. in the Olmsted Building auditorium.

Penn State Harrisburg keeps faculty, staff, and students informed of delays and cancellations due to severe weather through the PSUTXT system, Facebook page, Twitter page and on the campus website, as well as the telephone voicemail system, e-mail, and automated messages at the college's main telephone number, 717-948-6000.   Local television and radio stations also inform the public of delays and cancellations.

Lee discussion will focus on crime and policing

Dr. Jonathan Lee, assistant professor of criminal justice, will present Making Sense of Crime and Policing:  Theories and Research on Wednesday, October 23 from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Olmsted Building Gallery Lounge.

Topics in the discussion include juvenile delinquency, crime theories, police decision making, family and crime, and international studies.

Cunningham to keynote the first Lehigh Valley campus Teaching International lecture

Penn State Harrisburg’s Dr. Kenneth Cunningham, associate professor of sociology, will be the keynote speaker this fall for the first Teaching International program lecture at Penn State Lehigh Valley.

Dr. Cunningham is program coordinator for Penn State Harrisburg’s bachelor of science in sociology, bachelor of science in applied behavioral science and the minor in sociology.

Seminar presentation to discuss data management and transformational government

Dr. Rhoda Joseph, associate professor of information systems, will present Big Data and T-Government on Wednesday, October 16 from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Olmsted Building Gallery Lounge.

The discussion will focus on electronic government and transformational government, which is the use of computer-based information and communications technologies (ICT) to improve the delivery of public services.
