Penn State Harrisburg will present “The Changing Perspectives on the Legalization of Marijuana: Exploring the Impacts on Society,” a discussion panel focusing on marijuana legalization, on Thursday, Oct. 23, from 6:15 to 7:45 p.m. in the Capital Union Building Student Center on campus.
Dr. Raymond Gibney Jr., associate professor of management in Penn State Harrisburg’s School of Business Administration, will present “A Social Exchange Perspective on Student Retention and University Support Intentions” on Wednesday, October 22 from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Olmsted Building Gallery Lounge on campus.
Penn State Harrisburg will host an Undergraduate Open House on Saturday, October 18 at 9 a.m., in the Capitol Union Building on campus.
The event will present information to prospective students about the college’s more than 30 bachelor’s degree programs and options for completing the first two years of study leading to more than 160 undergraduate majors offered throughout Penn State.
To commemorate the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Penn State Harrisburg library and School of Humanities will host “Created Equal: America’s Civil Rights Struggle,” a free film screening and discussion series focused on the Civil Rights Movement. The film series begins on October 14 at 6:30 p.m.
Dr. Ozge Aybat, assistant professor of marketing in Penn State Harrisburg’s School of Business Administration, will present “Feedback on Task Completion: Do We All Appreciate this Information” on Wednesday, October 15 from noon to 1:30 p.m. in the Olmsted Building Gallery Lounge on campus.

As part of the Penn State Harrisburg’s Faculty Seminar Series, Dr. Brian A. Maicke, assistant professor of mechanical engineering, will present “Modeling Rocket Propulsion Systems” on Wednesday, October 8 from noon to 1:30 p.m., in the Gallery Lounge Olmsted Building on campus.
Penn State Harrisburg will hold a Doctoral Programs Information Night on Thursday, Oct. 9 at 6 p.m. in the campus library.
The event will offer prospective students the opportunity to learn more about the college’s three doctoral programs in adult education, American studies, and public administration; meet with faculty and students; and gather more information about admission requirements and financial aid.
Dr. Bing Ran, associate professor of public administration in the School of Public Affairs at Penn State Harrisburg, is hosting Dr. Zhengjun Luo, associate professor of management in the College of Economics and Management at Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Nanjing, China.
