Penn State Harrisburg will hold a Graduate School Open House on Thursday, September 17 at 6 p.m. in the campus library.
Guests will have the opportunity to meet with faculty and learn about Penn State Harrisburg’s more than 30 master’s and doctoral degrees. Information also will be available on financial aid, post baccalaureate certificates, joint degree programs, and more.
Enjoy a round of golf while supporting local athletes at the 6th annual Penn State Harrisburg golf tournament, presented by Orthopedic Associates of Lancaster.
The tournament will be held September 25 at 8:30 a.m. at the Colonial Golf and Tennis Club in Harrisburg. All proceeds support Penn State Harrisburg’s NCAA Division III intercollegiate athletic program, which includes numerous graduates from local high schools.
Penn State Harrisburg has named alumnus Kevin Harter as the college’s first professor of practice. As such, Harter, the former chairman, president and CEO of Saladax Biomedical, Inc., will lead Penn State Harrisburg’s new entrepreneurial center. He will serve jointly in the School of Business Administration and the School of Science, Engineering, and Technology.
Data users from across the Commonwealth are set to gather at the Holiday Inn Harrisburg/Hershey for the Pennsylvania State Data Center’s (PaSDC) 2015 Data User Conference on Sept. 17. The annual conference serves as Pennsylvania’s most comprehensive single-day forum for research and development in demographic data.
More than 350 buildings on campus are connected to and controlled by a building automation system, which uses a secure computer network to centralize the remote monitoring and control of electricity, lighting, plumbing, ventilation, air conditioning and other environmental systems. Many Penn State campuses across the state, including Harrisburg, Altoona and Erie, The Behrend College, also use digital automation systems for managing building settings.
Penn State is now accepting applications for the online master’s degree in electrical engineering offered through Penn State World Campus. The program will be taught by engineering faculty from Penn State’s Harrisburg campus and the College of Engineering at University Park.
