2003 grad named associate director of new Hershey museum

Penn State Harrisburg graduate Amy Bischof is playing a major role in the new museum being constructed by the M.S. Hershey Foundation.

Bischof, who earned a master’s degree in American Studies from the college in 2003, has been appointed associate director of The Hershey Story, the new museum is now under construction on Chocolate Avenue and scheduled to open in January.

Matthew Woessner serving as Faculty Senate president

Associate Professor of Public Policy Matthew Woessner will serve as president of the Penn State Harrisburg Faculty Senate for the 2008-09 academic year.

Serving as president-elect for the year is Professor of Humanities and English Matthew Wilson.

2002 grad new Gettysburg High School principal

Mark Blanchard, who earned a master’s degree in Teaching and Curriculum from Penn State Harrisburg in 2002, is the new principal of Gettysburg Area High School.

A former English teacher who earned his undergraduate degree from Baptist Bible College in Clarks Summit, Blanchard began his career in education at Baptist Bible School in Shiremanstown, Cumberland County.

From the very start funny man Ronnie Jordan has proven that he’s a comedy force to be reckoned with. After only a year on the comedy scene, the kid voted “Most Wittiest” in high school was crowned “Rookie of the Year” in 2001 by the famed Uptown Comedy Corner in Atlanta.

College offering Food Safety Certification training

One supervisory employee in a licensed food establishment must be certified in food safety and sanitation in order to be in compliance with the state’s Department of Agriculture Food Employee Certification Act.

Penn State Harrisburg is bringing courses that fulfill those requirements to Carlisle, Lebanon, Middletown, and New Bloomfield this fall.
