The top priority in For the Future: The Campaign for Penn State Students was keeping a Penn State degree affordable for students and families. On May 2, 2014 students revealed the total raised at Penn State Harrisburg of $15,402,082 during the Capital Society Dinner and Campaign Celebration.*
Melinda Logan, financial assistant in the Bursar’s Office, was recently awarded Penn State’s Outstanding Office Professionals Award by the University’s Educational Office Professionals (PSEOP). This award recognizes an administrative support employee who has provided exceptional service on behalf of Penn State. Logan was one of two award recipients.
Penn State Harrisburg’s School of Behavioral Sciences and Education has recently been approved by the Pennsylvania Department of Education to offer a Mathematics Coach Endorsement program.
Penn State Harrisburg will host the 2014 Adult Education Research Conference (AERC), June 4 to 6, from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and June 7 from 7:30 a.m. to noon at various locations on campus.
Thirty-one students from Penn State Harrisburg’s School of Business Administration recently were inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, the international honor society that recognizes students in the top 10 percent of baccalaureate and top 20 percent of graduate programs at schools accredited by AACSB International – the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business.
Four Penn State Harrisburg School of Humanities students recently presented creative written works at Susquehanna University’s tenth annual Undergraduate Literature and Creative Writing Conference. This is the second year that Penn State Harrisburg students have been accepted in to the conference.
On May 10, Penn State Harrisburg held its first Medals and Stoles Ceremony to recognize honors students who were graduating. The ceremony marked the completion of students’ journeys through the honors programs.
“Engineering is one of those fields that truly makes a difference in the world,” said Nehwon Kiepea, Penn State Harrisburg electrical engineering major. “There is a physical impact that you can see in engineering.”
This semester, Penn State Harrisburg School of Business Administration marketing students competed in a case presentation challenge at a regional conference of the American Marketing Association hosted by Penn State’s Smeal College of Business. This was the first time Penn State Harrisburg marketing students participated in the event.
Dr. Felicia Brown-Haywood, director of Penn State Harrisburg Student Affairs, has been awarded the Penn State Commission for Women’s Achieving Women Award in the administrator category.
