Penn State Harrisburg offers two related programs in the area of civil, construction, and environmental engineering: Civil Engineering (CE) and Structural Design and Construction Engineering Technology (SDCET). The CE program prepares students to perform duties in planning, designing, and supervision of heavy construction and maintenance of structures and facilities with focus on structural, construction, transportation, and environmental engineering. The SDCET program emphasizes structural design principles and construction techniques, preparing students for a career in the construction and design of commercial buildings and bridges.
Penn State Harrisburg communications major Caleb Steindel recently earned third place in the College Media Association’s 2023 Film and Audio Festival sports category for a video package he produced about the college baseball team. He produced the video package, shown here, as part of his work as sports director for the "Nittany Watch" broadcast magazine show, which can be found on YouTube.
Two criminal justice classes at Penn State Harrisburg recently used virtual reality headsets to help them experience what it might be like inside a prison. Using virtual reality gives the students a more immersive experience and exposes them to technology they might encounter outside of the classroom.
