Infant and Toddler Development

This course is intended as a starting point for professionals: Family Day Care Providers, child or school-age care Aides and Assistant Teachers, or Aides for Early Head Start and Head Start. Introduction to physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development as appropriate during the infant and toddler stages.

Course II

Building Family and Community Partnerships to Support Infants and Toddlers

Apply theory and methods for understanding the importance and benefits of collaborative, supportive relationships with families as a necessary responsibility of an infant/toddler educator.

Course III

Interactions that Support Infant/Toddler Social-Emotional, Cognitive, and Language and Literacy

HDFS 297.003

Explore the critical role that the adult-child relationship plays in supporting children’s optimal development and learning the three-key area: (1) social-emotional, (2) cognitive, and (3) language and literacy

Capstone Experience

HDFS 297.004

Field-based course allows students to apply, reflect and practice their knowledge and skills that they have learned through previous coursework/training while working with infants, toddlers and their families.
