On-Campus Interviewing (OCI) - Meet with Employers
Career Services' On-Campus Interviewing (OCI) service is part of Nittany Lion Career Network. OCI offers students the opportunity to interview in the Career Services Office for entry-level full-time positions with a variety of employers from business, industry, and government.
In order to participate in the on-campus interviewing service, you MUST have OCI included in your account services.
Free OCI access is automatically given to graduating seniors at the beginning of the fall semester; no additional steps are necessary to access OCI jobs through NLC. Other students may request that OCI be added to their account, as some employers may use OCI to interview and hire interns.
Be sure to read the following:
Employers who are not conducting On-Campus Interviews but are still targeting Penn State students, will post full-time, internship, and part-time employment opportunities for students in all academic colleges. These jobs are viewable through the NLC.
Sometimes employers don't have current job openings, but they do have entry level jobs and when these jobs become available, the companies typically need to hire right away. You will have the opportunity to "apply" for these leads/prospects through NLC so when the job becomes available, you will automatically become an applicant for this position.
Employers hold information sessions throughout the year. These sessions provide a chance for you to learn more about an employer, meet with recruiters, ask questions about various opportunities, and express your interest in current or future opportunities. These sessions are open to students who have an interest in the company and are required for students interviewing through OCI. To view upcoming information sessions, use the Events tab in NLC.
Career Services offers a variety of career fairs during the fall and spring semesters. These fairs give students the opportunity to meet with a number of recruiters in person and in one location to explore various opportunities and to build networking contacts.
- Fairs sponsored or co-sponsored by Penn State Harrisburg Career Services
- University Park sponsored career fairs
This service enables students seeking full-time employment in the field of education (pre-K through higher education) to centrally store and distribute required application documents.
LionLink, offered through Alumni Career Services, a partnership between Career Services and the Penn State Alumni Association, is a professional networking program that links Penn State students and alumni with alumni volunteer Career Coaches. Career Coaches can provide valuable information and advice on jobs and career to Career Explorers, who are students or alumni looking for a job or seeking career-related information.
Through informational interviews, Career Explorers can gain valuable inside information on careers, industries, companies and geographic areas from a trusted resource. LionLink can help you gain the information you need that you can't get in a classroom as you build your own professional network. To connect with a LionLink Career Coach, use the LionLink tab in NLCN.
