The 4-8 Mathematics Certification Program requires students to take an array of courses in the field of education. Additionally, students in this program must demonstrate competency in various areas of the mathematical sciences. Mathematics content competency must be demonstrated by taking and passing the PDE-required Praxis certification exam. Depending on degree held and background, additional mathematics-related courses may also be required. All courses required for certification, including field experiences, must be completed with a grade of C or better prior to student teaching. The program requirements are listed on the Courses page.
A minimum grade of C is required in all courses for certification; however, a 3.0 grade-point average is required to be eligible for student teaching and for certification.
*Master’s Degree Track
