Students compete in SimulTrain® simulation program

The 2nd annual SimulTrain® tournament was held on April 13 in the Forum at Leahy Hall at the University of Scranton. Numerous colleges competed in Merit’s Project Management simulation program called SimulTrain®. The degree of difficulty was dialed up this year using the SimulTrain® “Oil & Gas” scenario, which presents unique, industry-specific game elements. A team from the University of Scranton, won the competition with an aggregate score of 99.6.  A team from Penn State Harrisburg consisting of three Information and Science Technology (IST) students and a Project and Supply Chain Management (PSCM) students finished second. The Penn State Harrisburg team nicknamed the “PSU PM Stars” finished with an aggregate score of 93.4, beating last year’s champion from Muhlenberg College.

The students participating were members of Jesse Middaugh's, assistant teaching professor of information sciences and technology, PMP project management classes. Stephen Hengeli, Jessica Richardson, and Tapan Gautam were all members of Middaugh’s IST 302 IT project panagement class and Adam Bieber was a member of Middaugh’s MGMT 418 project and resource management class. Bieber is also the president of the Project and Supply Chain club at Penn State Harrisburg.
