Gold receives Board of Advisers Scholarship

Amanda Gold has been awarded the Penn State Harrisburg Board of Advisers scholarship for the 2018-2019 academic year. Gold is working toward an M.A. in applied clinical psychology at Penn State Harrisburg’s School of Behavioral Sciences and Education. She holds a bachelor’s degree in social sciences with minors in anthropology, psychology, and sociology from the University of Central Florida where she also completed an undergraduate thesis on gendered stigma surrounding depression. She currently conducts research under the tutelage of Dr. Candalyn Rade and Dr. Stephanie Winkeljohn Black. Her research has focused on peer-review and mindset theory on learning, coding prisoner writings, stereotype content model/BIAS map on prisoners, counselor beliefs and trainings surrounding religion, and religious coping in minority religions.
