Communications speaker series to welcome Amanda Mustard

As part of Penn State Harrisburg's Communications Speaker Series, Amanda Mustard, an award winning photojournalist, will present her work on Thursday, October 30 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the campus Capital Union Building Student Center.

A 23-year-old, self-taught photojournalist whose career has already taken her around the globe, Mustard will present on her recent projects in Egypt, China, and Thailand.

Scene on campus: MTV director and high school journalists

Penn State Harrisburg hosted more than 80 high school students on October 14 for a student journalism competition. Supported by the Pennsylvania School Press Association and Penn State’s journalism department, the event featured guest speaker Lu Chekowsky, vice president, creative director of on-air promotions for MTV. 

Olmsted parking lot lighting repairs to continue

The Olmsted parking lot lights had an unforeseen electrical malfunction last week for which repairs are ongoing this week. 

Supplemental lighting will be utilized at the Olmsted parking lot for the duration of the repairs. University Police also will be conducting extra patrols of the Olmsted parking lot until repairs are completed.

Social media campaign #PSU24 to showcase a day in the life of Penn State

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. -- Starting at sunrise on Thursday, Oct. 23, a 24-hour social media campaign will chronicle a day in the life of Penn State. Dubbed #PSU24, the campaign seeks to showcase the many moments and experiences that make up a day at Penn State, on campuses around Pennsylvania and at locations around the world.

Temporary relocation of Penn State Harrisburg bookstore

Penn State Harrisburg’s bookstore has temporarily relocated to the former classroom trailers just outside the eastern end of the Olmsted Building.  The move is in preparation for the eventual construction of the Student Enrichment Center, where the bookstore will be permanently located.
