MIDDLETOWN, Pa. – Penn State Harrisburg School of Humanities will present its fall play 'The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time' on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday, Nov. 3 to 5 at 7:30 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 6 at 2 and 7:30 p.m. There will be a pre-show discussion on autism on Wednesday, Nov. 3 at 6:30 p.m. and a sensory friendly performance on Saturday, Nov. 6 at 2 p.m. All shows will take place in the Mukund S. Kulkarni Theatre in the college’s Student Enrichment Center.
The Tony Award-winning play adapted by Simon Stephens is based on the novel of the same name written by Mark Haddon. The lead character, Christopher Boone, is a 15-year-old with autism who sets out to investigate the murder of his neighbor’s dog.
Christopher has an extraordinary brain. He is exceptional at mathematics but ill-equipped to interpret everyday life. He has never ventured alone beyond the end of his road, he detests being touched, and he distrusts strangers. When he finds his neighbor’s dog, who has died, his detective work takes him on a thrilling journey that upturns his world.
The Penn State Harrisburg production is directed by Rob Campbell.
The performance contains adult content. General admission is $10. Penn State Harrisburg students, faculty, and staff admission is $5. Tickets are available at the theatre box office.
