Awards ceremony recognizes faculty and staff

Penn State Harrisburg recognized outstanding employee contributions at the 2019 Faculty and Staff Recognition Program on March 28. Nominated by the college community and selected by various award committees, several faculty and staff members received awards.

Award recipients included:

Ashley Schools (Middletown, PA), financial coordinator, Office of Student Life - Staff Service Award

Carolyn J. Griess (Mount Joy, PA), assistant teaching professor of education, School of Behavioral Sciences and Education - Faculty Service Award

Marissa Harrison (Harrisburg, PA), associate professor of psychology, School of Behavioral Sciences and Education - Excellence in Research and Scholarly Activity Award

David Witwer (Wormleysburg, PA), professor of American studies, School of Humanities - Excellence in Teaching Award

AB Shafaye (Middletown, PA), associate teaching professor of electrical engineering, School of Science, Engineering, and Technology - Excellence in Advising Award

Linda Null (Dillsburg, PA), associate professor of computer science, School of Science, Engineering, and Technology - Thomas Eberlein Excellence in Teaching Award

Ana Patricia Aguilera Hermida (Mechanicsburg, PA), assistant teaching professor of human development and family studies, School of Behavioral Sciences and Education - Kathryn Towns Women’s History Month Award

The ceremony also recognized faculty and staff who have completed 25 years of service to the University. They include: Peter Idowu and Keith Mills.

Faculty and staff retirees who were also recognized included: Richard Young, Michael Chorney, Michael Behney, Cynthia Leach, and Janice Arana.
