Kappa Delta Pi (KDP) is the largest and most prestigious education honor society dedicated to fostering excellence in education and promoting fellowship among leaders dedicated to teaching. With more than 550 active chapters throughout the world, Kappa Delta Pi is dedicated to the ideals of fidelity to humanity, service, science, and toil.

The Sigma Alpha Chapter of Kappa Delta Pi was installed on May 1, 1990, as an official student organization at Penn State Harrisburg. Degree-seeking undergraduate students shall be enrolled in or have already completed 6 hours of education courses; have a minimum collegiate GPA of 3.0 and support KDP’s mission, vision, and values. Alternative Certification candidates with a bachelor’s or master’s degree shall be enrolled in or have already completed 6 hours of education courses and support KDP’s mission, vision, and values. There is no GPA requirement for someone who is pursuing teaching credentials and has earned a baccalaureate degree.

Education students may become a member by fulfilling the service requirements, completing an online application, and paying the national membership dues. For more information, please stop by the Teacher Education suite in W-331 Olmsted Building.
