Since 2023, Penn State Harrisburg has organized an annual Commemorative Banquet in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. This marvelous event aims to increase community engagement between local organizations, businesses, and community members, strengthen community bonds, and foster a sense of unity and collective responsibility toward Dr. King’s vision of a more just and equitable society.
In late 2023, the college announced the creation of a new, need-based scholarship effort to provide financial support to Harrisburg area students, to be funded by net proceeds from the Commemorative Banquet.
