Penn State Harrisburg managing chef Athan Spanos won an American Culinary Foundation (ACF) gold medal for his signature dish at the National Association of College and University Food Services (NACUFS) Mid-Atlantic Regional Conference Culinary Challenge, held March 15 in Amherst, Massachusetts.
Author–illustrator Laura Gao is scheduled to visit Penn State Harrisburg for a speaking and book signing event 5 p.m. Thursday, April 6, at 210 Capital Union Building. Gao's graphic memoir, “Messy Roots, A Graphic Memoir of a Wuhanese-American,” tells the story of Gao’s childhood, moving from Wuhan, China, to Texas and discovering her queer identity.
