The steel bridge competition challenged students to develop a concept for a scale-model steel bridge to span approximately 20 feet and to carry 2,500 pounds, and to assemble it under timed conditions.

Penn State Harrisburg students had the chance to test their engineering skills during the 2023 American Society of Civil Engineers Mid-Atlantic West Student Symposium. The college hosted the competition for the first time, and the college's ASCE chapter competed in the steel bridge competition.

Who's Got Game

Communications students in Amy Sauertieg’s event planning class at Penn State Harrisburg recently held a game night fundraiser to benefit the campus food pantry. Having students plan and execute a real fundraiser as part of the course gives them a more well-rounded experience, she said.

Who's Got Game 4

The event "Who's Got Game?" raised $225 for the WE cARE Food Pantry at Penn State Harrisburg. The game night was planned and run by students taking Amy Sauertieg's event planning course.
