The Rotary Veterans Initiative College Education Fund

Purpose:

The Donor's intent in providing this gift to the University is to provide support for U.S. military students.

Eligibility: 

The University shall award six (6) $1,500 scholarships, for a total of $9,000, from this fund as follows:

  • Three (3) $1,500 scholarships shall be awarded to entering undergraduate United States military students planning to enroll, full-time, at Penn State Harrisburg who have a demonstrated financial need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses.
  • Three (3) $1,500 scholarships shall be awarded to undergraduate United States military students enrolled, full-time, at Penn State Harrisburg who have achieved a 2.5 grade point average (on a 4.0 scale) and who have a demonstrated financial need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses.
  • The University shall award support to thirty-two (32) undergraduate United States military students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Harrisburg, in the amount of $500 to each student, to assist said students in purchasing textbooks. For the purposes of this fund, "United States military students" shall be inclusive of veterans, active duty, reservists, or National Guard from all the United States military services. In order to receive monies from this fund, whether it be in the form of scholarship or textbook support, students must be honorably discharged military veterans (as demonstrated by providing a valid Form DD214) or currently serving military members who are in good standing with their units (as demonstrated by providing a valid military identification card and completing an application with the University). Additional consideration for monies from this fund is to be given to United States military students without G.I. Bill benefits or whose G.I. Bill benefits do not meet their necessary college expenses.
