Purpose:
The purpose of this fund shall be to enhance the educational experience for students enrolled at Penn State Harrisburg, or successor academic unit, who may otherwise be unable to continue their college education due to emergency circumstances beyond their control for reasons such as, but not limited to, loss of a parent, job, secure housing, or basic needs. Expenditures may include, but are not necessarily limited to, the purchase of books or supplies for course work, the purchase of computers, transportation and travel costs, living expenses, groceries, car repairs, etc., and undergraduate student support in the form of scholarships/awards. If awards/scholarships are awarded from this fund, consideration shall be given to undergraduate students enrolled or planning to enroll at Penn State Harrisburg who have experienced an emergency, as outlined above. Each scholarship shall be awarded for one academic year and may be renewed for subsequent years providing the recipient continues to meet the conditions of eligibility and funds are available.
