Eligibility:
This gift shall be used to establish an endowment to be known and referred to as the "John and Susan Lucey Scholarship." Consideration for this scholarship shall be given to fulltime undergraduate students who are majoring or planning to major in Civil Engineering at Penn State Harrisburg, or successor academic major/unit, who have a demonstrated financial need for funds to meet their necessary college expenses; and whose home address of record is within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; and whose gender, ethnic, cultural, and/or national background contribute to the diversity of the student body (the "General Eligibility Criteria"). From the identified pool of eligible recipients, and to the extent possible, first preference shall be given to students who are majoring or planning to major in Civil Engineering with a concentration in environmental engineering at Penn State Harrisburg, or successor academic major/unit. If no students meet the first preference in a given year or if there are sufficient funds to award additional scholarships beyond the eligible recipients who meet the first preference, available funds will be awarded to any student based on the General Eligibility Criteria, regardless of preference. The University may modify or disregard any selection criteria if determined to be contrary to law or then existing University policy. Each scholarship shall be awarded for one academic year and may be renewed for subsequent years providing the recipient continues to meet the conditions of eligibility and funds are available.
