Dr. Truong X. Tran has been an Assistant Professor of Computer Science at Penn State Harrisburg, Penn State University, since August 2021. Prior to joining Penn State Harrisburg, Dr. Tran was a Teaching Assistant, Research Assistant, and then Part-time Instructor at The University of Alabama in Huntsville. Dr. Tran holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from The University of Alabama in Huntsville, an MS in Computer Science from Arkansas State University, and a B.Eng in Electronics and Telecommunication Engineering from Hanoi University of Science and Technology.

Dr. Tran has experience and interests in conducting research in Machine Learning, Data Analytics, Artificial Intelligence, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, Bioinformatics, and Software Engineering. His research explores applications in both transformative research and embedding innovation research into real-world problems. Dr. Tran has published scientific papers widely in the field of Computer Science.
