Biography: Dr. Piyal Sarkar is currently an Assistant Professor of Supply Chain Management in the School of Business Administration at Penn State Harrisburg. His research interests include supply chain risk, supply chain contracts, and supply chain finance. His research has appeared in many top level Operations and Supply Chain Management journals and has a strong pipeline of research projects, targeted to many top level journals. He is actively involved with Production and Operations Management Society (POMS) and the Institute of Operations Research and the Management Science (INFORMS). He has served as a session chair in the past for POMS and INFORMS conferences. He has presented his research in many international conferences organized by INFORMS, POMS, MSOM, and DSI. He serves as a reviewer in many top level Operations Management journals including EJOR, IJPE, POM, and MSOM. He is also affiliated with the Center of Supply Chain Research at Penn State. He enjoys learning new OR techniques and loves mathematical modeling and coding.
