Dr. Indrit Hoxha is Professor of Economics at Penn State Harrisburg. Since joining the faculty in 2010, he has contributed extensively to teaching, research, academic leadership, and institutional development.

Dr. Hoxha holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Houston. His research focuses on financial markets, macroeconomic policy, corporate finance, and housing economics. His work has been published in leading peer-reviewed journals such as the Journal of Development Economics, Journal of Empirical Finance, Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, Applied Economics, International Review of Economics and Finance, Global Finance Journal, and the Quarterly Review of Economics and Finance, among others. He is an award-winning researcher and has served as lead or co-author on multiple featured publications.

An active member of the international academic community, Dr. Hoxha serves on the editorial boards of several journals and regularly reviews manuscripts for more than three dozen scholarly publications. He has presented his work at numerous national and international conferences and frequently engages with the media on topics related to economic policy, inflation, taxation, and housing markets.

At Penn State Harrisburg, Dr. Hoxha has held several leadership roles, including oversight of the Finance and Accounting programs and the college’s Honors Programs.

Beyond the university, he has served on the Accreditation Board of the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education in Albania. In 2023–2024, he was awarded the Research Expertise from Academic Diaspora Fellowship by the Albanian-American Development Foundation and the Institute of International Education.

Dr. Hoxha teaches undergraduate and graduate courses in macroeconomics, financial markets, international capital markets, money and banking, and economics for business strategy. He has supervised doctoral dissertations and undergraduate honors theses at Penn State and internationally.
