Bowen Li, Ph.D.

Dr. Bowen Li is a Teaching Assistant Professor of Mechanical Engineering at Penn State Harrisburg. He received his Ph.D. in Engineering Science and Mechanics from Penn State University in 2025 under the supervision of Dr. Huanyu Cheng. He also holds an M.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University at Buffalo and a B.Eng. in Engineering Mechanics from Tsinghua University. 

Dr. Li’s research focuses on wearable sensing systems, magnetic soft materials, and bio-integrated devices, with a strong background in mechanics, materials science, and computational modeling. He has co-authored over 15 peer-reviewed publications and holds several patents related to sensing and aerospace technologies. 

In addition to his research, Dr. Li teach courses in dynamics, statics, and engineering computation. He is passionate about bridging theoretical mechanics with real-world applications, and his classroom approach emphasizes intuitive understanding supported by clear mathematical foundations.
