Amit Banerjee joined the faculty of Mechanical Engineering as an Assistant Professor in the School of Science, Engineering and Technology at Penn State Harrisburg in 2008. He has been an Associate Professor since 2014 and Associate Program Chair since 2016. He is also the Coordinator for the Mechatronics and Mechatronics Technology Minors at Penn State University. He has taught courses in Mechanics, Machine Design and Robotics. His research interests include Nonlinear Optimization, Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, Applications of AI and ML in Manufacturing and Robotics, Engineering Design, Computational Modeling and Study of Cognition and Creativity in Design.
