For Penn State students seeking self-treatment for minor ailments, there is no need to make an appointment. You may visit the Self-Care Center, during office hours, which is equipped with select over-the-counter products, such as: bandaids, cough drops
If you are requesting specific over-the-counter medications, such as Tylenol or Motrin (acetaminophen or ibuprofen), you may need to see the nurse or clinician-on-duty for these medications.
The Self-Care Center is available whenever the Health Center is open.
It is important for you to remember, however, that diagnosing an illness correctly is necessary for successful treatment. Self-care brochures are available for your use, but please don't hesitate to ask for medical guidance.
We are often provided supplies of promotional items & materials, which include, but are not limited to:
- Facial Washes/Cleansers
- Lip Balm
- Hand Sanitizers
- Feminine Products
- Awareness brochures and posters
- Other promotional items
Please note, Penn State Harrisburg does not endorse one specific product, and all promotional products are subject to availability, and subject to change. If you have other concerns or questions, please speak with the staff at Student Health Services and we will do our best to help you!
