Alexander Guk earns Alumni Achievement Award

Mechanicsburg resident Alexander Guk has only been a resident of the United States for 10 years, but his rapid ascent in the business world has earned him a prestigious Penn State recognition.

The vice president of technology for the Harrisburg-based Webclients Internet firm, Guk recently received the Alumni Achievement Award from the Penn State Alumni Association during ceremonies in University Park.

Retired faculty member named ‘Outstanding Pennsylvania Author’

Retired Penn State Harrisburg faculty Member Richard Ammon has been named the 2007 Outstanding Pennsylvania Author by the Pennsylvania School Librarians Association.

The award, which is presented to an author or illustrator who has made notable contribution in children's or young adult literature, was given to Dr. Ammon at the organization’s annual conference in Hershey.

Electrical students capture honors in regional competition

Electrical Engineering and Electrical Engineering Technology undergraduate students from Penn State Harrisburg walked away with a third place award in the annual Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) Region 2 Student Activities Conference at the University of Cincinnati April 13 to 15.

Rome Study Tour 2007

32 students participate in study tour to Rome

The recent college-sponsored study tour to Rome not only featured stops at many of the Eternal City’s tourist spots, but a week-long emersion into the culture and language of Italy.

Thirty-two students took advantage of the trip organized by the Penn State Harrisburg Honors Program. They were accompanied by two assistants and three faculty and staff. Students ranged from freshman to seniors and from 18 to 40 years of age.

College offers three summer study tours

This summer, you can learn about the arts and decorative arts of Pennsylvania, take a grand tour of Lancaster County, and even study the natural history of the Hawaiian Archipelago through study tours offered by the college’s Office of Continuing Education.

The study tours are offered on credit and noncredit bases and are led by experts in their respective fields.
