Penn State Harrisburg is inviting students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents and the entire local community to campus to celebrate Penn State pride during We Are Weekend, Sept. 27-29.
This fall’s scholarly communications and copyright workshop slate will include in-person workshops at Penn State Behrend, Penn State Scranton and Penn State Harrisburg, as well as a full set of Zoom workshops, including our popular trainings on complying with public access policies from federal agencies. There are specialized workshops for thesis and dissertation writers, instructional designers and scholarly authors.
The Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at Penn State Harrisburg is hosting a Startup Challenge from Oct. 18 to 20 on campus for community and student entrepreneurs.

The Resilient Resumes team took third place in the Nittany AI Challenge, held at Penn State University Park campus on September 10, 2019. The team received $5,000 from Nittany AI Alliance for their web application designed to walk the user through the resume creation process.
The strategies being employed by Penn State to help combat the opioid epidemic were discussed today (Sept. 12) during an update to the Board of Trustees Committee on Outreach, Development and Community Relations at the Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center.
Undergraduate students from across the country are returning to Penn State next week for the first international conference on the science of drawdown, the point at which greenhouse gases in the atmosphere begin to decline. The students, participants in this past summer’s Penn State Drawdown Scholars Research Experience for Undergraduates Program, will present results from their summer research projects from Sept. 16-18.
Penn State Harrisburg will hold a Graduate School Open House at 6 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, in the college library. The open house will offer the opportunity to learn about the college’s more than 30 master’s, doctoral and certification programs, including two new master’s programs in civil engineering and mechanical engineering.
Penn State student teams used artificial intelligence to create more efficient ways for students to study, find a job and assess the housing situation. Revu, Resilient Resumes and LionPad received a combined total of $25,000 from the Nittany AI Alliance to continue working on their solutions, which were developed during the 2019 Nittany AI Challenge. The funding was awarded Sept. 10 at the Nittany AI Challenge Celebration Event.
