Penn State Harrisburg’s World Fest to showcase diverse campus community

Penn State Harrisburg is inviting the college community to travel the world during “World Fest”, an all-day event beginning at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 10, which intends to encourage global interaction and celebrate the vitality of the college’s diverse campus community.

“Penn State Harrisburg has a vibrant international student body,” Anna Marshall, international student adviser, said.  “World Fest is a wonderful way to embrace campus internationalization, foster interaction with international and American students and showcase the college’s vibrant diversity.

“World Fest will boast different cultures of the world and offer opportunities for students, faculty and staff to virtually ‘travel’ around the world.”

The first 300 participants will receive a “passport” to visit various college offices decorated to represent a different country. The participants must have their passport stamped and a selection of questions answered by 4 p.m.

The evening activities, beginning at 5 p.m., will include a parade representing 50 countries, international dinner sampling, and traditional international performances.
