Dr. Simon J. Bronner, distinguished professor in American studies and folklore, has co-edited a book titled “Youth Cultures in America” with Cindy Dell Clark, a visiting associate professor of anthropology at Rutgers University.
The reference work, titled “The Encyclopedia of Youth Cultures in America” is the most comprehensive reference work on youth cultures to date. It attempts to correct a public view of America’s youth through historical, social, and cultural information on a wide array of youth groups.
The two-volume encyclopedia features authors in disciplines spanning from psychology, sociology, anthropology, history, and folklore. Content contains information on gangs associated with youth culture, trends in music and pop culture, as well as features on bully and student activism.
Many of these entries were written by Penn State Harrisburg doctoral students.
The book was released on March 25 in Santa Barbara, California and marks the 36th book authored or edited by Bronner.
