Pre Application for Consideration of Penn State Harrisburg Scholarship to the Martin Luther King, Jr. Leadership Development Institute of Greater Harrisburg
The Penn State Harrisburg Diversity and Educational Equity Committee (DEEC) is pleased to announce that pre-applications are being accepted for the Leadership Development Training developed by Martin Luther King, Jr., Leadership Development Institute (MLK-LDI) of Greater Harrisburg. The training is designed around the tenets and philosophy of Dr. M.L. King, Jr, and also professional career and leadership development tools. Other topics include understanding public policy and community mobilization.
MLK-LDI Training will begin on Feb 18, 2022. Below are the dates for the 9:00 am to 12:00 pm class sessions to be held virtually.
- Fridays, Feb 18 and 25
- Fridays, Mar 18 and 25
- Fridays, Apr 15 and 22
- Fridays, May 20 and 27
- Fridays, Jun 17 and 24
- Fridays, Jul 15 and 22
- Sunday, Jul 31, 2022 - GRADUATION
Consideration for this $550 scholarship will be awarded to up to 2 Penn State Harrisburg graduate students. Those accepting the scholarship will be expected to serve on the DEEC Outreach Committee for the following academic year and will be expected to share their experience with the campus community during the semester following the completion of the course.
Please complete and submit this form no later than 1/31/2022 so that the selection committee can appropriately determine the best candidates to award scholarships. Committee review of applications and schedule the vetting process of the two finalists 1/25/2022 - 2/1/2022. If selected for a scholarship a full application will be required to be submitted directly to the MLK-LDI. If you are not selected for a Penn State Harrisburg scholarship you may still pursue this opportunity directly with MLK-LDI using your own source of funding.
