Lisa Torchia has been a hospital executive for more than 20 years. She currently serves as Vice President of Patient Care/ Chief Nursing Officer at Holy Spirit Hospital in Camp Hill, PA. In the past Torchia served as the chief nurse executive at Pocono Medical Center (2001-2005) in East Stroudsburg, PA. Gnaden Huetten Memorial Hospital (1995-2001) in Lehighton, PA, and Saint Clare’s-Riverside Medical Center – Sussex Division (1989-1995) in NJ. Torchia’s clinical nursing experience was in cardiac and critical care.
Torchia is a Registered Nurse and a member of the American Organization of Nurse Executives where she served on the national Membership Committee and the National Foundation Education Committee, the Pennsylvania Organization of Nurse Leaders, the South Central Organization of Nurse Leaders, the American Nurses Association, the Pennsylvania Nurses Association and Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing. She served on the Board of Directors of the VNA/Hospice of Monroe County and has also served on the nursing program advisory boards for both East Stroudsburg University and Northampton County Community College. She was an active member of the East Stroudsburg University Alumni Association Advisory Board for many years where she served as Vice President for three years. She is a member of the Planning Committee of the Executive Leadership Harrisburg program affiliated with the Harrisburg Regional Chamber and CREDC. Torchia has also been a Rotary Club member since 1996, a board member of the Rotary Club of Harrisburg and was recognized as Rotarian of the Year in 2001.
Torchia earned a bachelor’s degree in nursing from East Stroudsburg University in 1980, a master’s degree in nursing administration from Rutgers University in 1987, and a post master’s certificate in nursing administration from Villanova University in 1992. She is a Johnson and Johnson, Wharton Nursing Executive Fellow completing the program at The Leonard Davis Institute for Health Economics at the University of Pennsylvania in 2005. Torchia is currently certified in nursing administration, advanced (NEA-BC) since 1991. She resides in Derry Township with her two children.
