David P. Wirick

David P. Wirick has served as general manager of ArcelorMittal Steelton since 2007. One of North America's top rail-producing facilities, ArcelorMittal Steelton is part of the Long Carbon North America division of ArcelorMittal, a global steel manufacturer.
Prior to this role, Wirick oversaw the company's Coatesville plate operation. He also was general manager of both Steelton and Coatesville operations during the merger of Mittal with Arcelor and the acquisition of ISG by Mittal.
A steel veteran, Wirick joined Bethlehem Steel Corporation's management training program ath the start of his career. Wirick was appoitned general manager of ISG Steelton when Bethlehem Steel was acquired in May 2003. Before the merger he held roles as general manager and senior manager of operations at Steelton under Bethlehem Steel. Previously he served as manager of quality, technology and logistics for the facility's Sparrows Point Division. Wirick also held roles as chief metallurgist, superintendent of quality assurance and metallurgical services, and manager of rolling and finishing operations at the Steelton plant.
Wirick holds a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Grove City College in Grove City, Pennsylvania and a master's in business from University of Pittsburgh's Katz Graduate School of Business. He also completed the advanced management program at Duke University's Fuqua Graduate School of Business.
He is a registered professional engineer in Pennsylvania and member of Association for Iron & Steel Technology and ASM. Wirick had recently served as chairman of the board of directors and executive committee of the American Red Cross of the Susquehanna Valley.
