Penn State Harrisburg will hold its spring commencement on Sunday, May 11 at 9:30 a.m. at the Giant Center, Hershey.  More than 750 degrees will be conferred at the ceremony.

Thomas J. Lynch, chairman and chief executive officer at TE Connectivity, will give the keynote address.  Lynch has served as the company’s chief executive officer since January 2006 and was elected chairman of the board in January 2013.  TE Connectivity is a multi-national company involved in the design and manufacture of products that connect and protect power and data flow.

On March 28, 1979, the worst accident in commercial nuclear power history in the United States started unfolding at the Three Mile Island (TMI) nuclear power plant outside Middletown, PA.

The events of the ensuing week would capture the attention of the world and focus it directly on the Harrisburg area.

Penn State Harrisburg recently presented Alumni Achievement Awards to one graduate of each of the five academic schools who demonstrates outstanding professional accomplishment. The awards, bestowed during the Alumni Awards Dinner in October, honor a diverse collection of talents and accomplishments from across the college.
