Four Penn State Harrisburg School of Humanities students recently presented creative written works at Susquehanna University’s tenth annual Undergraduate Literature and Creative Writing Conference. This is the second year that Penn State Harrisburg students have been accepted in to the conference.
On May 10, Penn State Harrisburg held its first Medals and Stoles Ceremony to recognize honors students who were graduating. The ceremony marked the completion of students’ journeys through the honors programs.
“Engineering is one of those fields that truly makes a difference in the world,” said Nehwon Kiepea, Penn State Harrisburg electrical engineering major. “There is a physical impact that you can see in engineering.”
This semester, Penn State Harrisburg School of Business Administration marketing students competed in a case presentation challenge at a regional conference of the American Marketing Association hosted by Penn State’s Smeal College of Business. This was the first time Penn State Harrisburg marketing students participated in the event.
Dr. Felicia Brown-Haywood, director of Penn State Harrisburg Student Affairs, has been awarded the Penn State Commission for Women’s Achieving Women Award in the administrator category.
Beginning May 14, Penn State students, faculty and staff will start receiving emails inviting them to add their emergency contact information to PSUAlert, the University’s new emergency alerts system. As announced earlier this year, Penn State is transitioning to PSUAlert, away from the current emergency messaging service known as PSUTXT.
Dr. Kathryn Robinson, director of Penn State Harrisburg’s School of Humanities and professor of theatre and humanities, a native of Beaver, PA, was recently inducted into the College of Fellows of the American Theatre at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C.
Penn State Harrisburg’s new chapter of the International English Honor Society, Sigma Tau Delta, inducted its first members on April 14. Twenty English majors with a GPA of 3.00 or better in their English courses were welcomed into the society.
Engineering students will display innovative technologies representing the future of their field at Penn State Harrisburg’s third annual Engineering Capstone Design Conference on Friday, May 9 from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 pm at various locations on campus.
