A new anthology co-edited by Jen Hirt, assistant professor of creative writing and English composition, is featured in Essay Daily, an online journal that focuses on creative nonfiction.

The book, “Creating Nonfiction: Twenty Essays and Interviews with the Writers,” was published in March by SUNY Press and co-edited with Erin Murphy, professor of English at Penn State Altoona.

Twenty-two students from Penn State Harrisburg’s School of Business Administration were recently inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma, the international honor society that recognizes students in the top 10 percent of undergraduate and top 20 percent of graduate programs at schools accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business – AACSB International.

Each year, the Commission for Women honors Penn State women who have shown notable leadership and accomplishments in their fields, have supported the University’s diversity efforts, promoted equal opportunity, and/or have contributed to humanitarian and public service activities.

Jingyao Gu, student in the master of science in environmental pollution control program, finished second place in the engineering category at Penn State’s university-wide 2016 Graduate Exhibition.

On Sunday, May 8, Penn State Harrisburg held its 2016 spring commencement at the Giant Center in Hershey, Pennsylvania.  More than 680 degrees were conferred at the ceremony.

A panel of experts gathered at Penn State Harrisburg recently to discuss the water contamination crisis in Flint, Michigan, its effects on residents, the health impacts of lead and public policy repercussions.

Penn State Harrisburg now offers an option for bachelor’s of science candidates in civil engineering to enroll in an integrated, continuous program of study leading to both the bachelor’s, as well as a master’s of engineering in environmental engineering.

Registration for the Penn State Harrisburg summer sessions is open for all students.

Students seeking to take courses over the summer can choose from a full range of undergraduate and graduate courses. Flexible options include on campus and online courses, some courses at the Penn State Hershey Medical Center and programs for educators. The first summer session runs May 16 to June 27; the second session runs June 29 to August 12.  

Penn State Harrisburg recently welcomed back Megan Crosson, a Penn State Harrisburg alumna and Deloitte employee. She was on campus as a part of a team from Deloitte that held a panel presentation for students on campus.
