Penn State Harrisburg Professor Emerita of Information Systems Gayle J. Yaverbaum has been named a Fellow of the Computing Sciences Accreditation Board (CSAB). 

Yaverbaum was one of two CSAB executive members to be named a Fellow, chosen based on outstanding contributions to the computing profession and education.

For over 25 years at Penn State Harrisburg, Yaverbaum served in various roles, including director of Information Technology academic programs and as a professor of Information Systems. Currently vice president of the CSAB Board of Directors, she has served as chair of the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) Computing Accreditation Commission (CAC) and the CAC criteria committee, and has served on the ABET Accreditation Council. 

CSAB, Inc., is the lead society within ABET, Inc., for accreditation of programs in computer science, information systems, software engineering, and information technology, and is a cooperating society for accreditation of computer engineering, biological engineering, and information engineering technology. The society is a federation of the Association for Computing Machinery and the IEEE Computer Society.
