Public policy major receives University-wide award
Penn State Harrisburg senior public policy major Michael Passiment, of Carbondale, Pa., has been named one of two recipients of the University’s 2013 Ralph Dorn Hetzel Memorial Award. Passiment is the ninth Penn State Harrisburg student to receive the honor.
Named for Penn State’s tenth president, the award recognizes students for high scholastic achievement, good citizenship, and participation in leadership and student activities.
Passiment’s strong communication and conflict resolution skills were acknowledged in his nomination for the award.
“He has impressed me with his ability to speak honestly with his peers in order to resolve conflict among organizational members,” a nominator said. “His talent to provide an unbiased perspective will take him far as he enters his career path.”
