Penn State Harrisburg hosted the Young Writers Academy from June 24-28. The event was intended to help young writers cultivate their storytelling skills.

The week-long program for writers in grades 5-12 included workshops such as - “Science Fiction & Fantasy: It’s Out of this World!” for students in grades 5-8 and “The Art of Short Fiction” for students in grades 9-12.

Students in the academy read their original pieces of fiction to family and friends on Friday, June 28.
