Ashtyani to discuss sleep apnea at health administration honor society ceremony

The Penn State Harrisburg School of Public Affairs Master of Health Administration program will host the Upsilon Phi Delta Academic Honor Society Induction Ceremony on Tuesday, April 18 from 4 to 6 p.m. in W117, Olmsted Building on campus. Keynote speaker, Dr. Hormoz Ashtyani, will present "Sleep Apnea, The Public Health Perspective, Impediments and Opportunities."

Ashtyani received his medical degree from Tehran University Medical School and completed his internal medicine residency at Hackensak University Medical Center. After finishing his pulmonary fellowship training at Norwalk Hospital, under an NIH grant for training pulmonary scientists and educators, he continued his training at Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center. For the past 20 years, Ashtyani has held the position of director and chief of pulmonary and sleep disorders medicine at Hackensak University Medical Center and director of pulmonary laboratory and pulmonary exercise physiology lab and pulmonary rehabilitation. 

The mission of the Upsilon Phi Delta Honor Society is to recognize, reward, and encourage academic excellence in the study of healthcare management and policy.
