For an overview of the process after you accept your offer to Penn State visit the Accepted Student Guide.

All new first-year students to Penn State must participate in New Student Orientation (NSO). At NSO, you will meet with faculty and staff, begin to develop goals for your time at Penn State, learn about campus resources and schedule courses for your first semester.

Before proceeding with your required NSO steps, you must activate your Access Account. If you need assistance activating your account, Penn State's IT Service Desk will be able to help you.

Once you activate your Access Account, follow these steps:

First Year Students

Transfer Students

  • Step 1: Make your reservation to attend TSO**
  • Step 2: Do your Pre-TSO Homework
  • Step 3: Attend Transfer Student Orientation

*After you have completed the ALEKS Math Assessment, you will receive an email from Student Orientation & Transition Programs inviting you to make a reservation for a New Student Orientation date.

**You will receive an email from Student Orientation Transition Programs inviting you to make a reservation for a Transfer Student Orientation date.
