    William McCormick (1770-1805) was a son of James McCormick, who immigrated from Ireland, and settled in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania. William married Margery Bines in 1800 and died in a farm accident in 1805, leaving his widow to raise twins, James and Margaret, who were born in 1801.
