About the Center for PA Culture Studies,
and the McCormick Family Papers project

The Center for Pennsylvania Culture Studies is devoted to providing programs, resources, and support for the study of Pennsylvania's cultural heritage. Established in 1990, the Center is affiliated with the Penn State Harrisburg School of Humanities and its American Studies program.

Committed to the documentation and appreciation of Pennsylvania's significant cultural heritage, the Center promotes the study and interpretation of the diverse communities, cultural traditions, and historical sites of Pennsylvania. The Center also serves individuals through a variety of public programming, and coordinates organizations and resources devoted to the study of Pennsylvania's history and culture at local, state, and national levels. The Center maintains research collections, organizes educational programs, offers technical support, and supports publications consistent with its mission.

About the book

This site is sponsored by the Center for Pennsylvania Cultural Studies at the Pennsylvania State University at Harrisburg, in cooperation with the Historical Society of Dauphin County, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania. Director of the McCormick Family Papers Project at the Center is Professor Michael Barton.
