Journal, Newsletter, and Resources
To promote the study of American culture, the EASA sponsors conferences, special events, a listserv and publishes a web journal, New Errands, and a newsletter. Newsletters commonly include news on special events, conferences, lectures, publication opportunities, fellowships, and other useful information for American Studies enthusiasts.
To promote interaction among American Studies students, scholars, and associations, individuals are encouraged to submit news items concerning their own or their organization's current research and events to the EASA newsletter. Please submit news and announcements for possible publication to Dr. John Haddad, at firstname.lastname@example.org , being sure to include all pertinent details as well as updated contact information. Thank you in advance for your participation in bringing our community closer together.
The Undergraduate Journal of American Studies
New Errands is an online journal dedicated to the publication of exemplary American Studies work by undergraduate students. Issues will be published semi-annually, after the end of each academic semester.
We encourage both self-submission by undergraduate students and nominated submissions by instructional faculty. Authors do not need to be current members of EASA, though we encourage them to join and to participate in our annual undergraduate roundtable session.
Submissions must have an Americanist focus and employ original research, but can be of any length and can utilize a variety of disciplinary methods. Any visual images should be placed at the end of the manuscript, and tags should be placed in the text to indicate the intended placement of each image. Manuscripts should conform to MLA guidelines. They can be emailed as Word documents to email@example.com.
