Based on a recent study, SAP graduates earn $5,000 or more than non-SAP graduates.

Designed for Working Adults

Penn State's seven-week hybrid classes offer the best of both worlds.

  • All courses are taught by Penn State approved faculty
  • The program is geared toward:
    1. adults who have previously earned a degree and are looking for a certificate to enhance their skills;
    2. those considering a master’s degree as these courses will count toward a master’s degree in Supply Chain Management; and
    3. those with some college credits who are looking to complete their bachelor’s degree as these courses will count toward a bachelor’s degree in Project and Supply Chain Management.
  • Accelerated, evening courses meet once a week for seven weeks in a video conference classroom with online learning components.
  • As a participant at either the host or receiving location, you are able to communicate with the instructor and interact with students at other campuses—it’s the best of both worlds.

Course List (3 credits each)

Students who complete the three required classes with a “C” or better will receive a certificate signed by Penn State University and SAP.

  • SCM 445 - Operations Planning and Control
  • SCM 460 - Purchasing and Materials Management
  • MIS 404 - Introduction to ERP and Business Processes

Prerequisites: MIS 204 and SCM 301

Prerequisites

Applicants must have completed 60 credits of coursework to be eligible. 

The ERP Certificate with SAP has the following prerequisites that must be met before enrollment in the program:

  • MIS 204: Introduction to Business Information Systems (3 credits)-Introduction to the use of information systems in business organizations.
  • SCM 301: Business Logistics Management (3 credits)-Management of logistics/supply chain processes.

College level courses similar to either or both of the above prerequisite courses may be accepted. Program faculty will review your transcript and determine if the courses can be substituted for the prerequisites.

Applicants who do not meet the prerequisites may take both MIS 204 and SCM 301 in an accelerated hybrid format in fall 2017. Please note that SCM 301 has its own prerequisites.
